Hot Stone Therapy is an age-old healing treatment. Hot basalt stones penetrate muscles and balance the nervous system like no other treatments.

In a session, Hot Stones are heated and aromatherapy, like lavender, orange or spearmint, are diffused in the room. Then stones are placed along the chakras, face, and feet. Whirls of radiating heat move along the muscles.

The heat helps increase circulation and boost the immune system - even more than traditional Swedish massage. It also operates at a deeper level than deep tissue because it affects the autonomic nervous system - Reducing anxiety!

In this workshop you will learn a little bit about the Hot Stone Spa treatment, contraindications, what to use in the set-up of a treatment, placement of stone in the prone, supine & side-lying positions and will see a 60-minute demo with practice. This is a wonderful way for spas and massage therapists to additional provide a more therapeutic massage, save hands and fingers and add revenue to their practice.
